Council by a majority of 21 votes.

S. Leckie, Neil White, Alex. Wright
and John Bennehecg. By-law to

There is no certainty yet as to
where Knox church will be gerryman-
dered to, in the proposed plan of the
re -adjustment of Presbyterial congre-
gations in Maitland Presbytery. It
looks as if some changes are neces-
sary.

The funeral of the late Rachael
Thompson Grieve, widow of the late
Alexander Neilan, whose death, fol-
lowing a protracted illness, occurred at
the home of her daughter, Mrs, W. 111,
Stewart, Seafortb, nn Friday, in her
82nd year, took place on Monday
afternoon to the Harputhey Ceme-
tery. The lata Mrs. Neilan was born.
in Maliillop in 1831 and spent most of
her life in that locality. She is sur-
vived by 2 sone, A, Neilan, Clinton,
and 3. Neilan, Seafortb, alto 2 daui:h-
Cera, Miss. Elizabeth Neilan and Mrs.
W. M. Stewart.

recruit her health. She is well pleas-

went with a good awing, totalling
over 34,000. He leased the farm to his
brother, Joseph, who lives across the
road. Mr. and Mre. McKay and
family take with them the good wish-
es of the community to their new home
at Hamilton. This was practically il-

with balance of $63880 on hand, Re-

Mies Florence Buchanan was re -ap-
pointed a member of the Public
Library Board for the coming term of
3 years. Other meutbere appoiuted
