SEVERAL townsfolk responded to a call
from a neighboring locality last Friday
nigbt to assist in locating a straying
woman who had wandered from her
home. It was an inclement night to he
out, even when well wrapped up.
Fortunately the search did not have to
continue long before being rewarded by

DIED AT ELMIRA -Word was received
last Saturday by Mrs, J. T. Wood,
Brussels, that her brother, Solomon
Lasehinger, of Elmira, Ont., had pessed
away, in his 74th year. Funeral took
piece from his late residence Tuesday
afternoon. service being held in the
Evangelical church. Interment was
made in Union cemetery. Mrs. Wood
attended the last sad rites.
WHITE WYANDOTTEB WINNERS - At
the Palmerston Poultry Show George
Manning, of town, was an exhibitor in
the White Wyandotte class. His win-
nings were :-sth for cock, 4111 for pul-
let ; 3rd for cockerel and 1st for pen.
A silver cup goes with the latter event
but it has to be won 3 times to entitle
tbe holder to retain it permanently, Mr,
Manning bas a flee lot of birds and this
is a good start and may add to his
awards by nearby shows.
