When operated on for appendicitis
the surgeon made the discovery that
a pin 113 the appendix was the (muse of
the illness of Percy L. Smith, one of
Ingersoll's young business men. For
more than a week he had complained
of severe pains, and his ailment was
diagnosed as appendicitis. The opera-
tion revealed the pin lodged in the ap-
