BRtrssmLs Bovs,—Goderich Signal of
last week speaks of foxmer Brusselites
as follows :—A change of business took
place here when J. R. Wheeler purchas-
ed the furniture business of Wesley
Walker. Mr, Wheeler is a Huron Coun-
ty boy, whose home was originally in
Brussels. He is a son-in-law of Jas.
Bowman, M. P. for North Huron. He
comes to Goderich from Toronto, where
be was with A. W. Miles' uodertakiug
establisbment on College street, and be-
sides being an accredited undertaker he
also is a first-class furniture man. Under
his direction the business should be
carried on in an able manner and with
even greater success. Possession will
be given on November 15111. Mr,
Walker came to Goderich 5 yeais ago, ;
and he bas shown his faith in the future
of the town by acquiring considerable
property. He owns the two stores ad-
joining the one occupied as a furniture
store, which he also acquired ; purchas
ed. Senator Proudfoot's house on Water-
loo street, and only last week he pur-
chased the residence of the late 1. A.
Fowler, Albert street.,Besides acquir-
iug these properties, Ir. Walker has
moved himself a useful citizen by his
activities in the Board of Trade, as a
member of the town Council, and
through his ability as a business man in
managing one of the most up-to-date
furniture stores in Western Ontario.
The Signal is therefore glad to know
that it is Mr, Walker's intention to re-
