This plan gives good service in bestowal of proper upkeep and relieves those interested trona having any care as to the work being properly looked after each recnrring year, An agreement is entered into by the Board to carry out the program. F. 0. candidate tor South Grey, said iu her nomtoatiuu speech at. Durham that she would not kiss the babies nor smile at the men more than sbe had done as a private citizen. There is a lot of twad• tile talked about this baby kissing busi- nese ou the part of candidates aspiring for Parliamentary honors, Our experi. auto in three streuuubs campaigns is that no mother ever attired her baby to' us to hiss nor did we ever ask to see the babies, We believe other candidates will say their experience has been the sante, As a lady candidate Miss Mc- Phail may be asked to dandle the babies and if sbe does we miss our guess if she wouldu't enjoy a sweet baby's breath much better than the strong fumes of tobacco iu the committee rooms of the House of Commons if elected to Parlia- ment. Iu regard to smiling at the men Agnes ban't be elected unless she goes through the riding with a smile on her lips though tears may be in her eyes. One author has saki td th t a the face that cannot stnile is never fair. Teat Puri tan pout, John Milton; says "For smiles •lrotn roman flow to brute denial, and are the love of food." 'There is the vacant smile, the, cold smile, the smile of bate, the satirical smile, affected smile, but Above all the smile of love and one who Is out for a broad humanitarian policy far the advaucemout of the status of her conditions, must go into her cempalga with the smile of broad intellect and true courage, for a beautiful smile is to the female countenance wbat the sun- beam Is to the landscape—it embellishes an inferior face and rodeenss an ugly one.
