A Watford citizen lost a valuable
Persian kitten recently. Going to the
Guide -Advocate office to advertise for it
be discovered kitty waiting for him on
the 4 front step, The owner claims that
not being able to find its way borne the
kitty knew that the printiug office ad-
vertised for lost and strayed articles or
animals, and its home would be found.
During its 24 hour stay at the office it
lived on paste and printing ink, and
seemed quite satisfied with the diet.

Leaving Vancouver at 9,30 p. m.
Sunday, June 12th, we had a long
run of many melee before we drew up
at lovely Lake Louise -one of Nature's
beauty emits -Tuesday forenoon. In
the intervening apace we had passed
through mountain scenery that beg -
gals description and Calle for apologies
to the Canadian West from those who
thought they were seeing the best• in
Italy and Switkerland, Sir Donald,
Hermit and others will long be re-
membered. We saw little of the

more than hustled along attached to

The 6 mile Connaught and Spiral

exhibitions of the genius of man in
their construction. Connaught is the

and is that straight it can be seen

Monday afternoon when the heavy
grades an the road were encountered
we bad the pleasure of riding in the
Observation carr (almost like a seated
platform with sides but no roof) and
watched the grand panoramic scenery
as we sped by snow capped moue-
tains, rapid running livers, cascades,
etc,, 3m. Coal burning engiues were
,replaced by 2 oil burners theteby el-
iminating cinders, smoke and coal
dust. It was an experience never to
be forgotten.
On toward evening we reached
Field, a divisional point nn the road,
wbete we spent the night so as to
traverse the mountains and see the
Great Divide by daylight. Field has
only a population of a few hundred
and is located near the base of Mount
Stephen, which towers to a height of
10,460 feet but it is a favorite stopping
place for those who wish to see the
glacier fields and do mountain climb.

mountain side to Chateau Lake Louise
and the famous lake . of that name.
It is impossible to find adequate and
sufficiently impressive words to des-
