The 6 mile Connaught and Spiral tunuele were some of the many wand- etc ntet Monday and are marvellous exhibitions of the genius of man in their construction. Connaught is the second longest tunnel in the world and is that straight it can be seen 1 through f from dtoerd. Coal burning engiues were ,replaced by 2 oil burners theteby el- iminating cinders, smoke and coal dust. It was an experience never to be forgotten. On toward evening we reached Field, a divisional point nn the road, wbete we spent the night so as to traverse the mountains and see the Great Divide by daylight. Field has only a population of a few hundred and is located near the base of Mount Stephen, which towers to a height of 10,460 feet but it is a favorite stopping place for those who wish to see the glacier fields and do mountain climb. ing, Y.
