Racing Circuit
At a meeting held in Palmerston in
connection with arranging a racing
circuit in this Northern district, re-
presentatives were present from Ches.
ley, Hanover, Ripley, Kincarding,
Palmerston, Wingham, Listowel,
Walkerton and Arthur. 0ireuit to be
called the Big Four, comprising the
four counties of Bruce, Huron, Grey
and Wellington, and opens at Cheeley
on June 3rd next,
Object of forming circuit is to make
it rnore inducive to the horsemen, as
the big difficulty has been to get suf-
ficient horses at individual meets.
This way they can depend on the
whole circuit in place of shipping
down country after each race. Pres-
ent indications are good for a large
bunch of horses, and good ones, in-
cluding some from the American side.
The schedule of dates as drafted,
is :
June 8—Chesley.
June 9—Hanover.
June 16—Ripley.
June 23—Palmerston,
July 1—Port Elgin.
July 7—Kincardine.
July 14—Wingham.
July 21—Teeswater.
July 28—Walkerton.
August 3—Listowel.
August 11—Arthur.
It is possible that some other towns
will fall in line later.
