DeWitgn Ur.—Among the Macy
amalgamations that have taken place
throughout Ontario during the past five
years, that of the two Strathroy papers
—The Dispatch and The Age—stands
out most prominently. In its issue the
Dispatch apnonnces that its interests
had been merged with the Age, after a
life of 6o years in that thriving and pro-
gressive town, Both papers have bad a
useful and honeralele career, but the
publication of a newspaper has become
too onerous and costly a business for two
papers to live in any of the smaller
towns, both covering exactly the same
territory and serving the same people.
The Age now will be able to branch out
and serve its districttobetter advantage

By the u e of the characters described in the foregoing, the identification
of automobile would be amazingly simplified, In case of accident where
quick action a necessary, six figures are very confusing and few persona
actually know the number of their owe car.
Where three or less figures are used, the letter and number are readily
caught and easily memorized.
The letter A, B, C, eta, would denote the particular make of any car.
On the preceding is given the first and last characterization on each series.
All makes would carry a letter designating them, when at a glance any person
could tell the make of the ear. As now very few can tell the different makes.
