While taking his sister to her school
last Sunday the horse Milton Lowe,
Grey township, was driving broke one
of its hind legs, on the 8th line, Morris
township. It was shot by Wm, Ker-
ney to put it out of misery. There
was 110 apparent cause for the ac-
cident.
Friday evening, Jan, 2,1st, the mem-
bers of Ebenezer Sunday School and
Mende, to the number about 70, met
at the horse of Lewis and Mrs. Jewitt,
and spent a sncial evening. After en-
jnying games for a couple of hours,
the company was called to order by
Reeve Elston, of Morris, wi,o acted as
Chairman, and a fine program was
carried out correlating of instrument -
ala, rotas, duets and recitations.
The most noticeable part of the pro-
gram was a presentation to Airs, Jew-
itt of a beautiful cut glass fruit howl,
by the inembers of Ebenezer Bible
class of which Mrs. Jewitt has been
teacher for a num'rer of years. A
bountiful lunch was then served by
the ladies, after which all went home
reporting an enjoyable evening.
