visit to Eastern Outatio for a few
weeks.
Too rR,EII WITH A GUN.—On Friday
last, Harry Tunney, twenty years old,
of Morris Twp„ pleaded guilty before
Magistrate Reid to the charge of rob-
bery while armed. The offence took
place last Winter, when Tunney
bought a boiler For the purpose, it is
alleged, of making "hootch." He left
the boiler with a neighbor, who. when
he learned for what purpose Tunney
intended to use it, refused to give it
up until Tunney produced a gun th
enforce his demand. Information
was laid against him, but he left for
the West, and it was only on his re-
turn, recently, that the officers were
able to apprehend him. The mag-
istrate gave him a sentence of one to
two years in the Ontario Reform-
atory, Tunney is said to be a Barn-
ardo boy, (Goderich Signel).

Lietowel's oldest resident, W. E,
Binning paseed away last Wednesday

Hospital, where he had been confined
for several months. Had Mr. Bin-
ning lived for severer days more, he
would have been 77 years of age stud
on the same day, he could have cel-
ebrated the 67th annivei sat y of his
marriage, Mr. Blueing came to List-
owel when he was six months old and
was the town's oldest resident. He
was town treasurer for 82 years, also
town clerk and seeretaty of the Pub.

Mr. Abell was born in Devonshire,
England, and name to Cnnedn in 1860,

Suffering from burns received
when a can of coal oil which he was
holding exploded, Morley Salmon, 11
year-old son of Chester Salmon, of
Zurich, died in St. Joseph's Hospital
London, early Monday afternoon.
The accident occurred shortly be-
fore the noon hour Monday. The lad
who was left by his parents to mind
two smaller children, was attempt -

over the child. He was terribly
burned by the flames.
The parents of the boy were im-
mediately notified and the doctor
