ing, the Wroxeter hors defeated Eth-
el, in Ethel, when the score was 20-
10 ; on Friday evening, the L+'ordwich
girls' and boys' Learns visited here.
The Wroxeter boys won out by a
of 17-11, but the gide were not as
successful, being defeated by 2-0 ;
Gerrie girls played here, on Saturday
night, and were defeated by a score of
20-14.

June 16th, a quiet, but pretty wed-
ding was solemnized at the manse,
Londesboio, when Rev. James Abeey
united in marriage Laura Marjorie,
eldest daughter of A, W. and Mrs.
Beacom, and Joseph I'h Lyon, son of
Harry and Mrs, Lynn, Miss Ida Ly-
on, sister of the groom, was brides-
maid and Harold Beacom, brother of
the bride, supported the groom. The

sed quietly away at her at her home,
85 Grey et„ Brantford. She had been
ill for the past 6 menthe, so her de-
cease was not unexpected. The fun-
eral was held on Saturday afternoon

side her late husband, who had Mede -
ceased her about 7 weeks ago. The

the United Church on Sunday even-
ing at 7.30. Rev. E. W. Bart; of
Trowbridge. will preach and the
Morningside Ladies' Quartette will
assist the choir of the church, Every-
body welcome.
Roe's United Church annual Gar-
den Party on Thursday last proved
to be one of the best held for a num-
bre of years. The weather was fine,
the supper good and the Listowel
folks in "Does It Pay" delighted the
largo gathering.

quite enthusiastic in extending con-

Somerville who were married a

hubby makes the dough while his
Wife makes the bread, but Palmer
will be making the dough tend at the
same time ranks among the best
bread makers of the land.
About thirty members Of the Wo-
man's Missionary Sohiety of the
United Church enjoyed a pleasant
car ride last Tuesday to Atwood
where they were right royally enter-
tained by Mrs.... P. McKee in their
regular monthly sheeting. ,After the

H. Fear is unloading a car of Al-
berta coal and is having no difficulty
at all in disposing of it.
S. S. and Mrs. Cole of Stratford,
and formerly of Ethel left last week
for the West where they intend to
spend a few months.
Leslie Earl believes in being pre-
pared for .that great day when the
Hydro Commission decide to turn on
the juice and has had his buildings
wired. The work is almost complet-
ed.
