Read this honest letter:
Nanaimo, B,C.—'I bad been suffering
with rheumatic pains in my shoulders.
Decided to try `Fruit-a-tives'. In a very
large basinful of cooked, rolled
wheat, to which a considerable quan-
tity of uncooked rolled wheat is add-
ed. This is eaten with plenty of
milk.
This is a very simple meal, but It
is completely satisfying.
The oblect 01 adding a proportion
of uncooked wheat is to supply what
is known as roughage, or the neces-
sary bulk of material to stimulate the
digestive tract to perform its func-
tion properly, The uncooked wheat
also contains salts which assist the
digestive process.
I start my lunch and dinner as I
do my breakfast, with half a grape-
fruit. After that, soup, white fish,
wholemeal bread or Swedish biscuit,
steamed vegetables, eggs cooked in
various forms, salads of all sorts,
cooked fruit and cheese.
Should one drink with meals? In
my opinion, a moderate amount or
alcohol taken with the evening meal
and a pleasant smoke after it. serve
to make the meal and the subsequent
rest from one's labors more enjoy-
able,
The condition of the mind during
meats is a very important factor in
getting the best from the: food eaten.
Everything likely to distract or
worry should be firmly put on one
side.
It is therefore wisest whenever
possible to take one's meal In pleas-
ant company, for in solitude the
mind is apt to hark beak to worries
and anxieties of the day's work.
For the same reason the wise wo-
