Stat', contains the fol- lowing obituary of a former resident of this looality :—There passe0 away on Jannary 24th, at the home of his brother, Robert, William Tiernan, in his 68th year, an old settler of the Deloraine district. He came to Del- oraine first in the summer of 1888 In a year or so lie returned to Walton and in tits spring 011890 moved with his family to the Deloraine district. Hee p rated his own farm neo' t Dand for several years, then rented it and of late years has been living in his home in Hartney. He was known in the Hartney and Deloraine districts as an upright, trustworthy man and will be sadly missed by the various members of his family with whom he frequently visited. He was born in Mullett Twp, 87 year's ago, moving to the 14th Concession of NIcKillop 63 years ago. He was married to Mary Ann Snell, of Constance, who predeceased him a year ago.
