DEATH OF AN OLD SETTLER —The
Hartney (Man.) Stat', contains the fol-
lowing obituary of a former resident
of this looality :—There passe0 away
on Jannary 24th, at the home of his
brother, Robert, William Tiernan, in
his 68th year, an old settler of the
Deloraine district. He came to Del-
oraine first in the summer of 1888 In
a year or so lie returned to Walton
and in tits spring 011890 moved with
his family to the Deloraine district.

home in Hartney. He was known in
the Hartney and Deloraine districts
as an upright, trustworthy man and
will be sadly missed by the various
members of his family with whom he

sole ; Mrs. Geo. Weidenhamer, Delo-
mine ; Mrs. John Wright, Winnipeg;

of Robert Holland, who passed peace -
frilly away 00 Sunday morning, Jan.
22nd, at the home of his son, Theo•
clone Reiland, 8th 0011 McKillop, at
the ripe old age of 87 years. His
brother, 011001es, of Detroit, passed
away January 22st, jest a few hours
before. The late Robert Holland WAR
in good health until a month prior to
his dtmth. He was born in Mullett
Twp, 87 year's ago, moving to the 14th
Concession of NIcKillop 63 years ago.
He was married to Mary Ann Snell,
of Constance, who predeceased him a
year ago. He is survived by three
dallgllteis and two sons : Mrs, tV, J,
Peehles and Mrs. Giles, Saskatchewan,
Airs. Roe, of McKillop, Mundy, of
Grey, and Theodore,- of 11nKillnp,'also
one brother, James, in elhltoo, A

ernoon. The services were condant-
