out of the forest, roads were built

still stand on timbers which were

clays "rain was sown by hand and
reaped with sickle and scythe. The
wheat had to be taken many miles
to a mill to obtain flour for the fam-
ily larder and the journey often oc-
cupied three or four days.
Mrs, Leishman was married in
1809 and raised a family of 11
children, eight of whom are still liv-
ing. She has 31 gandchildren and
two great granchildren.
Sir. Nethery was married in 1880.
He also had a family of 11, and like
his mister, eight are still living. He
has eight grandchildren. He has

little home, which is surrounded by
great mantes and spruce and a de-
lightful graden, with many old-fash-
ioned flo•rs. He is an Anglican and
a staunch Conservative in politics. 13e
has been a member of the Orange
