In those clays "rain was sown by hand and reaped with sickle and scythe. The wheat had to be taken many miles to a mill to obtain flour for the fam- ily larder and the journey often oc- cupied three or four days. Mrs, Leishman was married in 1809 and raised a family of 11 children, eight of whom are still liv- ing. She has 31 gandchildren and two great granchildren. Sir. Nethery was married in 1880. He also had a family of 11, and like his mister, eight are still living. He has eight grandchildren.
