The Clinton News -Record laza

ployee of the Post: Mr, Kenneth
Whitmore, who learned the high art
of Printing in the News -Record of-
fice and has been a member of the
staff for some years, leaves to -day
and on Monday next takes a position
on the staff of The Brussels Post.
Kenneth is a good workman and a
goad fellow and The News -Record
sees him go with regret but with
the very best of good wishes for his
future success. We command him
to the good people of Brussels,
where we feel sure his many likable
and sterling qualities will gain him
friends aplenty.
Change in Train Time.
Commencing on Monday next,
there will be two changes on this
line, Instead of the noon train
corning in at 11150 it is now due at
12:35 and the afternoon train will
arrive at 3:10 instead of 3:16, The
morning train will arrive at the us-
ual time 7.06. The 12.36 will be a
steals train while the 3,10 and ev-
ening train 9.11 will he the motor

the home of Miss Elizabeth Downing

Mrs. James Fox for Toronto. The
following address was read by Mrs.
Ida Lowry:
Dear Mrs, Fox:—We felt we
could not let you go from among us
without at least saying we shall miss
you verf very much. Your voice
has often been heard in Prayer and
Praise you have tried to build up the
Master Kingdom by Work and Gift
especially the Missionary Cause.
Your heart has often bourne heavy
burdens, yet your place in the san-
ctuary was seldom vacant. Show-
ing your confidence in the kindly
Providence which over rules till,
proving by your actions that you
trusted where you could not trace.
Citizens of the type of you and Mr.
Fox can ill be spared from any town
or community. Your take witli you
our best wishes for your future hap-
piness and prosperity and hope that
you and yours may be restored to

Wood—Shaw Wedding
On Saturday morning Sept 3, a
pretty wedding ceremony was quiet-
ly solemnized at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. S. J. Shaw, West Street,
Chatham, when their ,youngest dagh-
ter, Mary, was united in marriage to
T. Merner Wood, youngest son of
Mr, and Mrs. J. T. Wood, Victoria
Avenue, Chatham, and formerly of
Brussels. The ceremony was per-
formed in the presence of the inl-
inediateelatives of the bride and
groom. To the strains of Lohen-
grins Wedding March played by
Miss Buelah Thompson the bridal
party entered the drawing room,
the bride who was attired in a white
tafetta wedding gown with cap style
veil caught up with a coronet of
pearls and carrying °pholia roses,
entered leaning on the arm of her
father. She was attended by Miss

peach georgette and carried a bou-
fuet of roses and sweet peas, The
groom was supported by Mr. Archie
Ballantyne .of Brussels, Ontario

Cay and Beatrice Thompson. Mr,

to Ottawa via the St, Lawrence
drive. On their return they will re-

The death of Charles Blackstone,
West street, occerted at his late resi-
dence, ou Monday afternoon, after an
illness which extended over t115 lase
week. The deceased man contracted
a cold, which developed into the flu,
causing his death, The late Mr,
Blackstone was one of the octogenar-
ians of the town, being in 11,s 8514
year, He was born in 3852, and hacl
lived in Goderich for many years,
where he conducted a confectionery
store on West street, He was a
member of the Masonic Order and of
St. George's Anglican Church, He is
survived by two sons, Charles, of Ow.

Average depth of furrow 6 inches. No shaping of furrow
after 2 rounds on crown.
Judges' decision to be final
No shifting of stakes after start is made.
Each Plowman allowed one helper only.
All crowns to be finished before lunch.

Entrance fee, $1.00, except in Class 5.

PRIZES --Those will be 4 prizes in each class, viz: -415.00,
$12,001 $10.00 and $3,00—either cash or its valise, Tractor
Class — Prizes $20.00; $18,00; $15.00 and $10.00.
There will be a booth on grounds where plowmen can buy,
lunch.
