Melville Church
Matt. 22:42 "What think ye of
Christ?" was the Pastor's text in
Melville Church last Sabbath morn-
ing. In the time of Christ many dif-
ferent opinions prevailed as to who
Christ was. Peter was the only one
who had the proper conception of
Christ. Great characters cannot be
appreciated by the people of their
day. It takes time to reveal the
worth of their work. We to -day have
a beter opportunity of rightlyjudg-
ing the work of Christ when we see
how his teachings have stool the
test of nearly 2,000 years. Out' con-
ception of Christ should be a grow-
ing conception. If we believe in
Christ our belief will show in our ac-
tions. We will become broader
minded, more tolerant and more
Christ -like. The Parable of the grain
of mustard seed, Matt. 18:3', 32,
was the Pastor's subject in the, even-
ing. This is a parable showing the
gtowth of the kingdten of God front
a ;mall beginning to a groat ending.
Ti,o Christian church from e very
small beginning has grown to be a
great church. Tie Met .ry of the:
Cara:mien chut ch reveale the feet that
ontr ession has not ehecked its growth
but has caused it to smd out new
branches. The only way to develop
the kingdom of God is .ndividual by
individual doing his part.
