On the -Let of Decemb er you will be asked to elect a repre-
sentative to the Provincial Legislature, and as 1 em a candidate
you have a right to know Ink position and views.
There aro many canto ntious subrects to be aettled--Gov-
ermnent Control vs. O. T. A. the educational administration of
the Province, Hydro -Electric affairs e and Highway inatters. But
Mr. Ferguson says that the liquor question is the main !Que.
That being the can, 1 wieb to state that 1 am opposed to Govern
ment Control as oullina by Mr. Ferguson, Government Con-
trol should mean a restriction in the output of liquor instead of
an increase. Government Centres], to be effective, should be in
the hands of thoet in sympathy with temperance legislation and
not of those controlled by the liquor interests. Government Con-
trol may mean revenue, but it is at the expense of the general
,prosperity of the Province. I believe the 0. T. A., as ondoes.ed.
by ,the people on. diffeeent occasions and by large majeritios in
North Huron, sheuid be adhered to and strictly enforced. I
believe men should be elected who are in sympathy with tem-
perance legislation.
Hydro-eleetrie energy should be distributed on a more equit-
able basis throughout the Province. Revenue derived dram liq-
uor should not be applied to highway expenditure. Premier
Feeguson's ToWnsitip eehoel board Whet workable end shOuld be
withdeawn. Supplementary grants to teachers' salaries shottld
be based on length of service, efficiency and quelificatiom Eines
tions should be held at seasonable times whee the views of the
people can be expressed, and onee eXpreseed, as they have been
on several .0tettei00e, shetild be respected.
