A gaiet wedding was solemnized at
th I United Church parsonage, St.
Marys, when Thelma Mary Tughen,
daughter of T, J. Tughen, Trowbridge,
was united in marviage to William
Clarence, Smith, son of Mrs. M, Smith,
of Elem. Rev, Thomas Green per-
formed the ceremony, The bride
looked pretty in an alias blue satin
drese, and also wore an allots blue trio -
other cmat trimmed with grey squirrel
and hat to match. Her glover!, etock-
ings and Mines were in the blonde
shade. The young couple were unat-
tended, They left by motoron a
wedding trip to Hamilton and Lond-
on. They will take tip their residence
shortly, on the bridegroom's farm, in
Elms.

As the result of a second stroke,
following one the previous week,
Stephen L. King paseed away at his
home in Turnbeirv Thursday even-
ing, Deceased, who was 75 Years of
age, had spent all his life in Howiek
and,Turnberry townships, where he
was a eucceseful farmer. He was of
a retiring disposition and respected
by all whn knew him. Rio death

death of his wife, evokes deepest sym-
pathy for the bereaved family, whioh

funeral service conducted by Res. R.
S. Jones, was held on Saturday after-

vice yesterday afternoon, in Cooke's
Church. Rev. L. B. Gibson was in
charge of the service, and a beautiful
tribute to the departed was given by
Rev. Kenueth McLetin, of George-
town, who challenged his heitrer s to
emulate Mre. Cameron's life, which
had been eharaeterized by courage,
zeal anti eommuniotx with God.

The many old friends of the Cal-
der family regret to learn of the
death. of Miss jean Alexander Cal-
der, at Innisfail, Alta, on Wednes-
day, October 20th. Deceased had un-
dergone a major operation a few days
previous to her death. Her sister,
Dr. Margaret Calder, of Wiugham,
left to see her, but she died just a
few hours before the Doctor arrived.
