Miss Attie Emigh was taken to
Clinton Hospital, on Wednesday, to
undergo an operation, but 011 Thurs-
day morning, word leas received by
her father, J. 0. Emigh, here, that
she had died. The late Miss Emigh
Was most popular here. where she had
resided all her life. She always took
an active interest in the Anglican
Ohurch, of whirl) she was organist
and a member of all the organizations
of the chute's. She also had taken an
active interest in the Conservative
cause since the winner' obtained the
franchise. Surviving, besides her
father, are two sisters, Mrs, A- E.
Bradwin, of Arnprinr, and Mrs,
(Judge) Jackson, nt Lethbridge, Alta.,

sedan suffered a broken right gear,
wheel and fender, as well as being
turned upside down. pinning the oo.

ination, it was found that there were
no serious injnfiee. Mr, Rouse was
rather badly bruised as well as being
cut. He was attended by Dr, F. J.
Cawthorpe, of 1'avistnok, The tour-
ing oar was only slightly damaged
and Mr,lCreitch escaped uninjured.

RALLY DAY.—Next Sunday after-
noon will be Rally Day at the James-
town Sunday School, when Rev, Ie.
0, Fowler, of Brussels, will be pres-
ent and address the session. Every-
body is invited to attend this special
service.
The Jamestown Sunday School held
a successful and pieasiig earn roast,
at Alex. Dark's, on the river bank,
last Wednesday evening, Sept.22nc1.
The night was cold, but hearts were
warm, faces black, old people frivol-
ous, young people sensible, games,
community singing and a general
gond time.

Elvia McKay, who was married last
week : "About 35 friends of Miss
Elvia McKay assembled at: the linwr
of Mrs. Corey Warne'. 85 Glendale

Alexander and Mrs. Grant motor-
ed to Grand Bend on Friday last to
spend the day with friends and while
there Mrs. Grant was informed of
the death of a cousin, Mrs. John Pat-
chen, at Thedford, and that the fun-
eral would be held on Saturday. Mrs.
Grant stayed over and attended the
funeral, The late Mrs. Patchen's
maiden name was Belle Armstrong.
She is survived by her aged husband
and two daughters and one son. The
Hislop families in Howick anti Turn -
berry townships are also cousins of
the deceased. Robert Hay, of Grand
Bend, returned with Mr. and hors.
