Fowler took as his text I Timothy 1 :4, "Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies which minister questions." In the text Paul SVArnS T/MOtIly against pay- ing attention to the fables taught by false teo.ohers. This warning might apply to the Greek and Roman churches which divided on questions of no importance. This warning might apply to -day. Too many to- day spend their time in controversy over unimportant queetions. The outstanding characteristics of the re- ligion of Christ is peace and goodwill. These are not obtained by Controver- sy but by practisiug the spirit of Christ. We should not pay attentioa to articles whiclt bring no result but questioning. At the evening service the pastor's subject was "The Line of tlae Greatest Resistence," based on Matt. 7 :13 -"Enter ye in at the straight gate ; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat." Christ realized that following the easy way would not lead to the goal be desired to reach so he chose the hard way, No moral vic- tory is ever gained by following the line of least resistence. All great men have attained greatness by choosing the different way. The principle ap- plies to the living of a Christian lite, The easy way is not the right way but, Ole Christian should seek to overcome all obstacles. .
