Excellent Papers Presented,
The Institute had one of the bright-

afternoon with a splendid attendance,
The paper on "How to make Our

and was well presented by Mrs. J. S.

Spring Season.
Sunday was the first day of spring
and et must be said that the flood of
sunsinne and warmth was welcomed
with unstinted delight A few such
cleye would soon obliterate the last
traces of it long and tedious winter.
It can safely be said that, no matter
what the variations of the weather
maybe, spring is just around the cor-
ner. Seed catalogues and nursery
lists are being scrutinized, and very
shortly spring activities will be in

A New Idea.
The Owen Sound Council has ad-
opted a novel scheme to create a
building boom this year. The city
now holds a large number cif lots on
which the taxes were not paid, and
have consequently eeverted to the
eity. It is proposed to give these lots
away free to persons who will enter
into an agreement to build houses on
them. 13y this means Owen &end
will increase the value De the pro-
perty, and incidentally collect More
taxes. Not a bad idea.
