SOLD THE TEAM.—Listowel Banner of
last week says :—Listowel's town teatn,
fine specimens of horse flesh, purchased
when colts, a year and a half ago, at
Seem, were sold by Council Monday
night, for $425, to James Wilson, of
town, who is reported to have turned
them over next day at $500, to J. H.
Galbraith, horse buyer of Brussels.
Mr, Galbraith, In turn, is said to have
sold the team at aefurther advance of
$50, to the Atnent Milling Company of
Brussels They were in splendid condi-
tion and Soo pounds heavier than when
P
urcllased by the town. The sale of
horses, especially at this figure, was
protested by Councillors Moore and
Riugler, who consider it a "slaughter."
Coeucillor Sangster, the ouiy other
member of the Board, opposed to their
sale, is in the Northern woods. It was
the contention of Councillor Moore, who
as chairmau of the Property cotnnittee,
had the team in charge, that the horses
paid their way every month except
one, and that time the teamster tuns off
is days because of sickness,
