BAD SMASH AT THE MILL DAIS -One night last week the astiou of the water for years worked loose a section of the cement mill dam, near the centre, and swept it out. It le a poor time of tbe year for such a condition to arise for 2 reasons, est because it is a bad season to make cement repairs on account of un• certain weather and Fall rains, 2nd, The rains of Autumu supplied the motive power to turn the wheels of the mill tatting off the expense of running the engine, On aecouvtt of the long dry spell during past month there was not water enough to be of service There is space of about 36 feet to replace and Proprietor Logan and staff have gone pluckily to work to try and make the necessary repairs. In the meantime the chopping mill will be closed down. Possibilities are unless the damage can he made good the coming Winter and floods would play havoc with the dam but we hope there will be a good rally men to aid Mr. Logan as the uou-use of mill would prove very detrimental to the com:nunity as a big business has been done.
