Gardening and the culture of rose; Was one of his de• lights in which he excelled. 26 years ago Mr. Pelton was united in marriage to Miss Minnie A Johnston, of Galt and to them were born 3 daughters, Beryl, Norma and Mildred, who. with the mother, survive. Deceased was up- right, conscientious and houorable, was endowed with more than ordinary abil- ity and was ambitious iu attaining a high standard. In his years of failing health he received the beat medical at- tention and good nursing in an en• deavor to woo him hack to vigor, The writer knew deceased from his youth tap quite Intimately and coeld always speak approvingly of his worir and chase - ter. His literary style was good and from his pen Came many an article of real merit, The History of Glengarry County was one of the volumes for which he was sponsor. To Mrs, Pelton and daughters is extended the warm sympathy of a wide circle of old friends in the loss of husband and father.
