We are sorry to hear that Mrs.
James Thynne, Red line, has not been
having very good health, but her
many friends hope she will soon be as
hearty as ever.
Last week Earl Anderson, son of
James and Mrs. Anderson, 6th line,
left for the West where he enters the
Horne Mission and Social Service
field, his first location beiug Castor,
Alberta. He goes initially from
Maitland Presbytery. We wish him
the best of success. There it ample
room for serving ootmthere and we
hope his services will prove fruitful,
Gordon Rintool has gone to North-
erly Ontario where he will spend the
Summer 111 House Mission work. He
was attending College at Toronto and
will employ hie talents during the
holiday in helping folk morally and
spiritually as well as industrially.

were married at the Methodist Par-
sonage, Ethel, by Rev. Mr. OKell, at 2

and brideemaid Miss Edna Smith, The
bride wore a becoming costume of
white voile, trimmed with georgette.
After the ceremony the wadding party
were entertained at the home of Wm,
and Mre. Ward, the bride's parents,
where dinner was served in Mrs,
Weed's best style, Mr, and Mrs,
Smith took train at Listowel on a
wedding trip to Guelph, Niagara Falls,
Woodstock and other points, the bride
travelling in a suit of navy blue, with
hat to match. On their return the
happy couple will reside on the 2nd
con. Many good wishes are expressed
for a long, happy and prosperous life,

AN OLD RESIDENT DEPARTS, --On
Sunday, May 23rd, one of the most
sturdy of the pioneers passed away in
the person of Siouan Van Norman,
Deceased was born in Alblon, Ont.,
over 85 years ago, moved to Merris
when a lad of 17 and settled on 401
Cori, where he endured the hardships
of pioneer life, At the age of 23 years
he was married to .L3+lizabeth Ander-
son, who predeceased him 11 glints
ago. To them were born 10 children,
9 of Whom survive, viz t—V, R. and
Robert, Wingharn ; John, Brandon ;
F. A. Webbwood, Ont., and 0. S.,
Hamilton; Mrs. 11, D. Vaualstyne,

ping it to Brussels to build a large hog
pen.
