well no doubt. Mr. Willis will secure
the assistance of another baker and Miss
Clara Hunter has been waiting on cos•
turners in the shop. It is a business that
was badly needed in Brussels.

funeral of the late Miss Janet McKay
took place Wednesday afternoon of last
week, the pallbearers being 5, Wilton,
Jno. Long, Geo. Muldoon and R. Heu•
derson. Among those whn were here
from a distance were Mrs. Norman
Graham and Mrs. Charles Taylor, Lon-
don ; Ernest McKay. Petrone; Hilton
Hunter and children, Wingham ; Dr. J.
M. and Mrs. Moore and Reid Moore,
Listowel. Lady friends of deceased at
Cranbrook, Ethel and Brussels present-
ed a beautiful doral pillow, as did friends
011 Flora street, Brussels. Deceased had
many friends who always were pleased
to meet the subjeet of this notice with
her quaint speeches and jovial spirit.
WHITING—DAY/8.—A quiet wedding
took place Wednesday evening, March
3rd, at 7.3o at the home of the bride's
parents. W. A. and Mrs. Davis, 1015
Eastlake avenue, Saskatoon, when their
youngest (laugh er, Miss Lulu, was unit-
ed in marriage to Frederick Whiting, of
Duudurn, son of D. J and Mrs. Whiting,
of the same place, who was present with
the intimate friends and relatives, Rev,
W. H. Bilis, of Shounavon, uncle of the
groom, performed tihe ceremony. The
bride was gowned in white georgette
over silk and carried a shower briquet of
carnations and friesiss. Her bridesmaid
was Miss Edith 'Tyrie. George Rawles
was groomsman, A couple of hours
dancing followed the ceremony and a
buffet supper was served. Mr, and
Mrs. Whiting left for Duudurn, where

terror for Johnston but few people know
how the trick was done,

—Rev, I. J. Haylock, for many years
one of the best-known ministers of the
Loudon Conference, died at Chathatn,

beat wishes of the community. They
have been residents of Ethel for a
good many years. Mr. Lamont, .who
was formerly of Ethel, is engaged
with the city Fire Brigade.
