FORD AGENCY, -Since S. Carter gave
up the local Ford Agency on account of
bis Intended absence from Brussels for
some months, considerable speculation
bas been indulged in es to whom his
successor would be. The matter has
been set to rest by the appointment of
D. M. Scott, of Niles, Mich., a former
resident of Brussels, and the eldest son
of,F. B. Scott. He will have his head-
quarters at Frank Davidson's garage
and will no doubt push the Ford as he
bas had a wide experience in meeting
the public for a number of year.
OLD BOYS' REUNION - Monday even-
ing a dozen or more of the guarantors of
the Old Boys' Re -union met in the Board
room of the Public Library to receive
the report of the demonstration last July
and discuss what might be done with the
surplus. It was found that over $yoo
is banked to the credit of the Fund with
assets of lumber, trestles for seats, etc.,
worth probably $300. Discussion of
the proposal to place a suitable memorial
for the brave soldier lads who gave up
their lives for the cause of Liberty and
Justice elicited the fact that tbe amount
of money was quite inadequate to se-
cure anything worthy of the name and
it was thought best to plan for another
day of sport in Lg2o In the expectation
of padding out the finances, The
Reeve, President, Secretary and Treas-
urer of Old Boys' organization was
named as a Committee to draft out sug-
gestive plans for a celebration. Possibly
the "nest egg" from tortner celebratiou
it the bank may be added to the sur-
plus from last ,July. If an appropriate
Memorial were to besecured what would
your suggession be as to the character
of it t Some say a hall, a motument, a
tablet, fountain, town clock, park, &c.,
&c. In some places a scrappy tune hal
been on the program aver what would
be done along the same line.

A 801oR.T canvass was made this week
by the Hockey boys for financial as-

tendance at match last Monday was
comparatively slim owing to sickness
and inclement weather. These clubs
cannot be run on hot air nor good wish-

up the sport. Response was fairly
generous and the boys are thankful and
will see that it is properly applied.
