Yuill was largely attended Thursday

Mann, deceased's paster, conducted
the funeral service and 8 sons were

ASAIN.-After a trip extending over
the past 6 months thtough the West
and California W. A. and Mrs. Lam-
ont and son Arthur arrived home last
week. Theyspent2 weeks in Mani-
toba with relatives and friends, 2
weeks in Saskatchewan, 2e months 111
Alberta and balance of the time in
British Columbia and California.
They left the latter on December 1st
and called off at Chicago and Guelph
on the home trip. An enjoyable time
was spent in various places visited.
Mr. Larnont's health was benefitted by
the outing although be did not find
Califotnfa as suitable to him as the
more bracing atmosphere of the
North. Their farm was rented by the
Purvis Bros. and the travellers have
once more taken possession of the
home on the farm which was unoc-
cupied. Old friends welcome Mr, and
Mts. Lamont backeto home commun-
ity. They tell many interesting
things about their rambles, what they
saw and who they (net.

MAN. -Word has been received of the
death, at Ninga, Manitoba, of Alex.
0, Sperling, formerly of Goderieh,
formerly of Goderieh, from pleuro.
pneumonia. The funeral took place
Wednesday of last week, The late
Mr. Sperling was born in Huron
County about 58 years ago, and was
well known in Gray township and
Brussels, where relatives still reside.
In 1884 he married bliss M. A. Elliott,
daughter of the late Mrs, J, McBrien.
of Hulled; township, and after some
years in the blaeksmithing business in
Goderieh removed, about 1801, to
Manitoba. For nearly 80 years Mr.
and Mrs. Sperling have been residents
of Ninga Turtle Mountain district,
taking an active part in the church
and social life of the Western town,
Of 3 daughters, 2 died during this
period, the surviving 0110 being Miss
Jennie Sperling, dietician ab Brandon
hospital. Mts. Sperling is a slater of
John Elliott, 760 Waterlocstteet, Lon.
don, G. M. Elliott, Goderieh, and
Mrs. J, H. McMullen, North Dakota.

demise of Mrs. John Heudersou, of Hare
on township, mother of Nurse Hender-

away at the Kincardine General Hospi-
tel on Wednesday morning, Dee. 14th,
Emma Jane Potter, beloved wife of
john Henderson, Huron 'Township, at
the age of 47 years aid a menthe. The
deceased had been poorly for some time
