DIED AT KINCARDINE, ---Last Sunday
night Chas, W. Jackson, brother of H.
L, Jackson. Brussels, passed away, after
an extended period of ill health. He
was 51 years of age. Funeral took place
Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Jaokson sur-
vives. More extended notice next
week.
ONE day last week Sylvester Fox bad
a close call from being killed, He was
driving one of P. Ament's teams with a
load of turners when the horses took
fright and attempted to run away, The
shifting character of the load rendered
the footing insecure to the driver and he
fell off the rack on the hard road, He
was rendered unconscious and suffered
numerous bruises but no bones were
broken and he will soon be as bearty as
ever. The team was caught at THE
Pos'r Publishing House.

Wes. Armstrong, a returned soldier and

prietor is now in possession and we wish
biro success. He is an old hand at the
business. Mr. Armstrong will retain the
services of Ernest Wheeler, It was Mr.
Habkirk's intention to take a prospect-
ing trip to the West as be was a resident
out there for some years before he en-
listed for overseas service and is conse-
quently acquainted with the lay of the
land, but has eine (bought the shop of
Billie leurko, Wingham. Brussels Will
be sorry to lose Mr. and Mrs. Habkirk
and daughter from town but hope they
will do well. Mr. Hebkirk's health has
not been very robust for some time but
we hope he will soon be able to plum
the scales clown at a round goo, This
will be some "plump" for Orville but
nothing like a lofty aim, Mr, Arm.

years. She was only ill a short time and
her demise was quite unexpected to
many, Her husband, 2 sous ('Thos , of
Regina and las. at home) and 2 (laugh-
ters (Mrs. Lauder, Orillia and Mrs,
Gray) are left to mourn her loss.
Mr. and Mrs, Brandon moved to
Orillia locality where they were mar-
ried 5o years ago Deceased's maiden
name was Sarah lame Whitfield, of Grey
township, and was beloved by a wide

al of their sister,
HAROLD GERRY'S FUNERAL. -Thera
was a large attendance at the Methodist
church 'Thursday afteroaon of last week
at the funeral service or the late Harold
Gerry. Rev. W. E. Stafford conducted
au appropriate service and Miss Mae
Wood and Mrs W. E Stafford sang,
"Some day we'll understand." The
pulpit was draped in white and mauve.
Pallbearers were H. Ament, A, Fox, N.
Shaw, W. Buchanan, les, Anderson,
and W. Bell. Beautiful and many were
the floral contributions. In addition to
those on the casket others were carried
to the church by Misses Doris Ross,
Jean Fox, Florence McNaughton, L
Amain, Isabel Shaw and Alice Wilton.

Mrs, Jean Armstrong (practical nurse)
who has,beeu at J.J.Gilpin's, Church st.,
for several weeks has returned to her
home in Loudon, Miss Tate has recov-
ered from her operation for appendicitis
and is able to resume her duties in the
home.
Misses Mae Wood, Ida Bailey and
Nellie Fox, Fred, and Meruer Wood and
Harvey Milligan motored to Kitchener
one evening last week and attended a

Mrs. Fred. Wood. A delightful time

accident near Atwood His brother,
Walter motored to Atwood for him as
the train did not arrive until 2 a. m ,
Friday morning.
This week Mrs. Allam Lemont and
Miss Lily removed to Wingham, to
which town Mr. Lamont had preceded
them a few months ago, Mr, and Mrs.
Lamont were old residents of tow° hav-
ing lived here for nearly 20 years.
Many old friends, while sorry to see
them leave Brussels, wish them prosper.
