Temperance forme of Howick Town-
ship was held in the Methodist church,

milling sub division in the minticipal-

Pierce, passed away Wednesday of
last week in his 87th year. Funeral
took place to Blyth on Friday
afternoon, Rev. R. J. McCormick con-
ducting the service. Pallbearers were
Jim. and Wm. Craig, Wm. Pollock,
R. Nesbit, W. Cunningham and J. T.
McCaughey. Mr. Prieee was boon near
Kingston and came to Hullett town-

Cause of death was heart affection
and after an illness of 14days he suc-
cumbed. He had been a hearty man
in his day. His passing reduces the
