Grey & Morris Telephone Co, met and
made a change in the operators at the
Central. The skiff had tendered their
resignation unless there was an increase
of pay and, with the exception of Mise
Margaret Robinson, they were replaced
by Misses Madge Donaldson, Atwood ;
Mergaret McCall, Toronto ; and Bessie
Watson, Brussels, While the new
bends have more or less experience, it
will take a little time to get acquainted
with the numerous routes. Will per-

Dien IN CALIFORNIA. -As stated in last
issue ot THE POST, Mrs, W, A. Grewar
passed away at Los Angeles, Cal., on
April 2803. The Grewar family went to
California last December and after a few
months Mr. Grewar re-pnrchased his
old business in Brussels and returned
to take possession, Mrs. Grewar, daugh-
ter rind sou continuing their resideuce
there with ioteution of corning back
next Fall When Mr. Grewar left the
South the family were well as usual and
he was totary unprepared for the tele-
gram stating his wife underwent an
operation Suuday, 2sth ult., death en-
suing the next clay, Deceased's maiden
name was Annie Williams, daughter of
Hogh and Mrs, Williams, formerly of
Brussels, and speut her girlhood clays
here, About 17 years ago deceased was
mated in marriage to her now bereft
partner, aril ienves a SOH, Areher, and
daughter, Verne. Mrs. Grewar was a
pattern of neatness, and good house•
keeping and will be greatly missed by a
wide circle of friends. The casket ar-
rived Saturday noon and was taken to
the home of J. D and Mrs. Warwick,
the 1 tter being a sister of Mr, Grewar,
Funeral service was held Sunday at
2 11, M. in Melville church and despite
the heavy rain the ed flee was well Sled
by people ready to express their sym-
pathy in the unlooked for bereavement.
Rev. Mr. Mann gave a suitable address
on the prospect of the future state, and
the occasion was one of deep solemnity.
Choir was present and lead in the sing-
ing favorite of hymns of deceased. Pall-
bearers were Jno, Ferguson, H. L.
Jackson, las. Ballantyne, Geo, Lowry,
Alfred Seeker and J. T. Wood. The
floral tribtaes were beautiful. Inter'
menwas made in the family plot in
Brussels cemetery. The community is
a unit iu expressiug sympathy with the
bereaved in the sudden taking away of
one so well known In Brussels. Truly
in the midst of life we are in death end
the admonition should not pass unheed-
ed,

week looking up some., cases of interest
to the Society.
Mrs. David Heist has not been very
well tor the past few weeks but we hope
the arrival ot Spring will invigorate her.

Mrs. Ray Fear, Sob line, Morris town-
ship, who bas beeu seriously ill, was
able to visit for a few days at the home
of her mother, Mrs, George Sperling,
Brussels.

of Listowel, were visitors in Brussels

Dr. Snider and Mr, and Mrs, Munro,
of Cayuga, were time attending the

They were old friends at the family.

from an exteurled and mast enjoyable
holiday at California, He found the
