A Wise CHotct.—The Gotletich Sig -
Oat of recent date speaks of the newly rip,
pointed Manager and Matron of the
County House of Refuge as follow:, :—
The many friends of James B, Reynolds
alit be pleased to learn that he has re-
ceived the appointment as Superintend.
eat of the Huron Co. House of Refuge.
County Council is particularly fortunate
in having at its command a man of Mr,
Reynolds' ability to fill the vacancy caus-
ed by the death of the late officer is
charge, He is a man with youth still on
his side, and the Is years he spent in the
hotel business should help to fit him
for the management of the County's
home for the aged and infirm. Besides
this he thoroughly understands agricul-
ture, and the farm in connection
with the Home will doubtless receive
such attention as to make it it valuable
asset. The successful administration
of a home of this kind depends to a con
siderable extent upon the disposition of
the nue in charge, The inmates as a
rule, are those whom fortune has not
smiled upon kindly, and who in their
declining years have become bitter to
wards the world at large and require
careful handling. Mr. Reynolds is a
type of man that would be; well suited
to his duty. Mrs, Reynolds, who be-
comes Matrou of the House, also is well
equipped for her position, During her
husband's career in the hotel business
she contributed largely to his success by
her msusgemeut of the dining -room and
s'eepingsccommotlation, and as these are
very Important features in the new posi-
tion Mrs, Reynolds should prove to be a
capable Matron. Of late Mr. Reynolds
has been farming in Goderich township
and only recently disposed of his place
on the Huron road to Wilson Oke, who
takes possession April 1st Mr. and
Mrs Reynolds assumed their new poli•
tines on February 1st and while their
removal from this vicinity is regretted,
it is generally felt that in their new
sphere of labor they will prove an un-
qualified success." Mrs. Reynolds is a
slaughter of J, J. and Mrs. McCaughey,
of Cliutou.

Bavid Lloyd George to B, W.
Briffi' i on "Hearts of the World"
"You will do this to aid humanity.
"The idea back of your splendid story is a
message to civilization that its fight will not
be in vain. Let me be the first to predict
that when you have completed your labors,
you will have produced a masterpiece which
will carry a message around the world—a
story which will inspire every heart with
patriotism, with love of country, with the
great cause for which the civilized nations of
the world are now fighting in France.
"This, Mr. Griffith, is the greatest and
most wonderful task you have ever attempted
God speed you in your great work and grant
that you may accomplish your desire." '
"Hearts of the World," another Griffith
triumph—a story more vital than "The Birth
of a Nation," Last night's audience was
spellbound. It was a monster success.
