VOiCE OF MY MOTHER
10 matters not where I wander -
O'er mountain, 'cross plains, fr011
Sea to sea;
If 1 attempt to leave the right,
A sweet voice ever pleads with 111e.
Go on, go on to where I will,
I hear that voice, low, soft and
sweet:
"Remember well 01y words, my child;
They aright will guide thy feet.'
And as years go by 1 still remember
The early lessons she taught me,
When 1 was but a simple child,
And only my mother knew posi-
tively.
MORE TRUTH THANPOETRY
aly friend, have you ever heard of the
town of Yawn
On the banks of the river Slow,
Where blooms the Wait -awhile flow-

Where the Some-tinge-or-othea
scents the air
And the soft Gu -easy grows?
It Iles In the valley of Whats-the

In the, province of Let -her -slide;
That tired feeling is native there-.
It's the home of the listless I -don't
Where the Put -it -offs abide.

Intending to do tomorrow;
And so they defray from day to day

decay
And their days are full of sorrow.
