On returning to the Council Chamber
addresses appreciative of the late. County
Treasurer were made by Wm, Lane the
new Treasurer and others. The late
Dr. Holmes was a well known resident
of Brussels where he successfully practic-
ed his profession until his removal to the
County town. He was owner of two
bu•riness blocks here when he died.

room of Public Library Tuesday after-
noon. Meeting opened with roar hymn,
'.Nies Martha Smith, organist, Mrs,
(Rev )Mann read short Scripture les-
sens and prayers were offered by Mrs.
McGuire and Mrs. Alex. Bryans. A
solo, "Little Boy Blue" was well sung
by Miss I•abel Strachan, accompanied
by Miss M. Jones. Mrs, (Rev,) Stafford
then introduced Mrs. Stewart, of Tor-
onto, in a fe.w well chosen words.

"yield welfare" and "Social purity"

salute, was tendered the speaker on
motion of Mrs. Robt, Oliver and Mrs.

pupils of Brussels School. The Circle
Committee decided not to have a booth
at the Fall Fair, 9 pairs of socks came
in, to skeins of yarn were given out and
one pair of socks sold,
