at the age of 79 years. Deceased had
suffered 3 strokes of parnlysis prior to

to y. ars net,. Her husband died sud-
denly in Mitchell 23 years ago, while a
res'&-nt of Exeter, and was buried iu

attended meeting of Brussels Branch of
the Lipper Canada Bible Society for

Smith, rector, Rev, W. E, Stafford read

complimenting Brussels Branch nu their
splendid record he prnveeded with his
fine address, "The Bible on the Battle-
field." which was instructive, interest-
ing and encouraging As the fiue pic-
tures were throwwu on the canvas the
lecture became very realistic and im
pressive. Since commencement of the
war over 7 000,00ti volumes of the
Scripture in over 7o leuguages, has been
distributed without fee among the sol-
diers in the trenches, camps, hospitals,
&c. Mr. Gibson is a good speaker end
as he had visited the places described
and also has mitny relatives in the battle

vote of thanks was moved to Rev Mr,
Gibson on motion of Rev. A. J. Mann

MRS, Geo. HALLIDAY Deceasap: A
former highly esteemed resident of
1russels, was called to her reward on
May 13th, in the person of Nellie Cer-
hsle, beloved wife of Geo Halliday, of
Indian Head. She had been ill for some
time. Funeral tock place the 'Thursday
following her demise. In addition to
her husband a son, Lyle, and daughter
Helen, survive. Lyle IS a member of a
Plying Corps now training at 'Toronto
