THE MINSTREL SNOW Splendid Success In every Particular. Receipts over $208.00 :Friday and Saturday evenings, May 24 and 23, the Town Hall, Bruseels, ;vas filled to the doors on the occasion of the presentation of the Ladies' Minstrel Show, in which about 40 people took part. It was a great suc- cess, everybody filling their post in A 1 manner, and it is safe to say a jollier crowd, both on the platform and com- posing the audience, seldom assembles, Of course it was a Minstrel Show and the program was cut after the Ethiop- ian pattern in song, story, joke, cake walk and steps. Many of the cos- tumes worn by the ebony artists were not fashioned in Paris but represented "down South" in their picturesque- ness, while the antics of the end ladies could not be described, except by moving picture film. Program was as follows :—Opening chorus, "Old Black Joe" ; introductory remarks by the Interlocutress ; Stump speech, Miss Flo. Bnchanau ; solo and chords, "Are you from Dixie ?" Mrs. de la Penotiere ; Medley, "Old Kentucky Hnme," "Dixie," "Swanee River" and "Under Southern skies";Song and dance, "Coon Dolly," Jean Ferguson and Wilma Galbraith ; Highland Fling, Jae. Bowman ; chorus, "Coon Hollow Capers ; mouth organ selections, Hilda Pawson ; Comb chorus by end ladies ; solo and chorus, "Me and my gal," Ales. Nesbit Hamilton ; song and chorus, by Misses L. Dunford, Hazel Stewart, Grace Walker and Isabel Strachan ; chorus, "Belgium put the kibosh on the Kaiser" ; National Anthem. Interest never lagged ftotn the first to the last and the progran went. through without hitch or any kind. Ciphering out who the various dtankies were was an in- teresting puzzle, beyond solution to some, Encores cane in thick and fast and as a consequence the program grew in length and the crowd had heaps of fun. The ohotuses went with a fine swing, characteristic of negro melo- dies g this s well sun as they ey L were n l, Show. Without doubtt the duet by Genevieve and Snowball has anything on record beaten and they may expect calls from 13ostou and New York. The jokes were good and the local ap- plications funny, In the p "hoe downs" the end ladies, quartette and pickanitnies brought clown the house and was a very realistic exhi- bition of the "cullutd festivals," tray down South in the land of cotton. The 6 end leadies were a whole show in themselves and well eustained the merry making in the various stunts pulled off.
