in France on Feb. 4th, He belonged
to the Flying Corps and had only been
there 2 weeks. Deceased was on duty
as a Home Guard at Niagara Falls 2
years prior to going overseas Ile was
onl.v 21 years 0t age and a fine young
man. Mr. and Mrs. Mann have 6
nephews overseas.
REu Cross Circle will meet at the

street, next Tuesday afternoon at 3
o'clock. There was more than a score
of ladies at Mrs, John Cunningham's
Wednesday afternoon of this week.
Mrs. Will, Farquharson, of Provost,

Red Cross work in Alberta. She was
formerly Miss Kate Teller, of Brussels,

friends. Mac's health has not been
good and in the hope of improvement
he has sold his butcher business to J
Block, of Zurich, and will remove to St,
Thomas where he will take a pnsition as
Inspector of switches on the railway, his
district running from St. Thomas to
Black Rock, Mr. McDonald's son -in.
law, Frank Clair, is Superintendent of
the same department of work. The
husband of Mr, and Mrs McDonald's
eldest daughter, Pte, Wm, Flook, is in
the trenches in Frsnee, It is 24 years
since Mr. McDonald left Brussels but he
has kept in touch with the town Rs he is
usually here once or twice a year. We
hope the change of employment will
better Mr. McDonald's health so that be
will soon be as hearty as ever, "Dan"
is among the old Brussels boys who
have made good.
DIED AT A Goon OLD AGE, -Last
week nut POST referred to the seizlous
illness of Mrs, Henry Wilbee. We are
sorry to state that the old lady succumb-
ed Thursday night, after a brief illness
of a few days, having attained to her
91st year, Her maiden name was
Caroline Penfold and her birthplace was
Essex, England, When 6 years of age
she came to Canada and when 19 she
joined hand and heart with Henry
Wilbee, the ceremony being performed
in Waterloo County, About 30 years
ago Mr. and Mrs Wilbee came to Brus-
sels and 7 years later Mr, Wilbee met
with a fatal accident by the collapse of a
building. Since that time Mrs, Wilbee
made her home with her daughter, Mrs,
Philip Ament. The surviving sons are :
-Wm., of Galt; Walter, of Brussels ;
Jesse, of Grey township ; and Andrew,
of Prince Albert ; John died at Strat-
ford. Daughters are Mrs. H. Johnston,
Caledonia, Mich., and Mrs. Ament,
Funeral took place Saturday afternoon
to Brussels cemetery, Service was
=ideated by Revds. Messrs, Medan and
Stafford, Pallbearers were, P. Scott,
8, Wilton, Jas. Fox, A. C. Dames, D.C.
Ross and Jas. Ballantyne, Subject of
thisnotice was greatly beloved by all who
knew her, She was of a happy turn,
unusually smart for her great age, a
true wife, loving mother and excellent
neighbor, she served her day and gen-
eration, She was a member of tiie

boyhood and early manhood years were
