time but its Production has der
alined edlanpiy in recent years the
to abnormal weather conditions.
St would seem opportune to revive
the :piodectino of tris seed crop
as market prospects for the deturo
are good.
Als4ke has brought ,profiterole
prices for many years in the Unit-
ed) Kingdom and .the United States.
Other European countries and New
Zealand also buy Canadian alsike
seed. 1't is reasonable to expect
that good, prices will continue for
well -grown alsike seed reasonably
free of weed seeds, This clover
usually produces from 4 to 10 bush-
els, per acre, and prices, paid grow-
eres seldom have been lower than $6
Per bushel for average seed in the
rough. The price in 1938 to the

There is very little that can be
done this season to correct or •Im-

be made to make preparations for

Where seed potatoes infected
with these diseases are planbed in
the soil these fields will become
infected and another crop of diseas-

The importance of using seed that
is free from disease cannot be boo
strongly impressed upon potato

bearing these diseases should cook
thein when feeding them to live-
stock. If fed uncooked, infection

of .the Ontario crop, There were
very few fields of uncertified stock
that did not 'have these diseaees
in them, Much of the certifled
crop has been. marketed for table
use. Growers who need a change
of seed should nos delay in, arrang-
ing for their supplies, while it
is yet possible to get them.

furnished with the names of eterti-
