Earth Tremor
Hamilton, Ont.
Part of Hamilton and .the Niagara
district was rocked by an earth
treauor about 12.23 a.m. Monday
No damage was reported. The
shock seemed most severe at
Grimsby but was felt along -the
shore of Lace Ontario, at Hamilton
Beach and itt the northern sections
of Hoanitton.
Maty persons in. Hamilton re-
ported that the quake seemed more
like a distant dynamite explosion
than a tremor, but no blast took
place In the district. In any case,
the area affected would be der too
wide to be s'hakeu by a single ex-
plosion.
The shock was not felt in the
t southern part of Hamilton, or the
t
mountain, but was most appreciable
in Burlington where hundreds of
householders were awakened.
