A C, did he have any idea that he would be anything else but a farmer. Born and reared on a Glengary County farm, the business of far•mtu„ was right in his blood. He was milking the cows and feeding the pigs when he was knee high to a grasshopper and 11e kept right on doing it until he left home In 1924 to enter the Iiemptville Agricultural School. He studied there for two years end took lectures from none other than ' Patrick Michael Dewan, now the Hon, P, M. DeWan, Ontario's new Minister of Agriculture. 'Mr, D:wan was on the stale of the Kemptville school at that tithe, but left to 1926 to take over the management of the Oxford Farmers' Cb_operative at Woodstock, In the fall of 1926 Mr, MacLeod entered upon et foul' -year course a, the Guelph 0, A. It was along about gradu- ation time in the spring of 1929 When the gentleman, mentioned at the outset, came along and offered him the post of assistant agricultur- e! representative for Huron County, Here, reflected iiir, MacLeod, was an opportunity to get some more valu- able draining berme he went into the business of farming himself. Thus decided, he accepted the job and on June 1 of that year, just three days after 'he got his diploma, 11e lauded in 'Clinton, One year later, to the very day, he succeeded G. A. Those were his two nra- 301' sports, but following graduation he took to golf. He was doing” 'nicely at this and was shooting' in 'the nineties.
