Rowland, in the Twp. of McKillop 1 1-4 Miles South and 1 1.4 Miles West of Walton 1937 Prize List Of the Huron Plowman's Association Consists of 8 Classes as Follows CLASS 1 -High Cut Plows in Sod Free for All. first $10.00 second $8.00. third $6.00 fourth $4.00 (Five entries or no third prize) CLASS 2 -Jointer 'Plows with skimmers in sod, no cut allowed, Open to all except anyone winning a Prize at the Provincial Match They will be barred out of this class first $10.00 second $8.00 third $6.00 fourth $4.00 (Five Entries or no fourth prize) CLASS 3 -Jointer Plows with Skimmers in sod, no cut allowed, open only to residents of Huron County First $10.00 second $8.00 third $6.00 fourth $5.00 Fifth $4.00. (Six entries or no fifth prize.) CLASS 4 --Boys 16 years and under 19 years, in Sod skimmer allowed. First $10.00 second $8.00 third $6.00 fourth $4.00 (Five entries or no fourth prize) CLASS 5 -Boys under 16 years, in stubble, with skimmers Prizes -First $10.00 second $8.00 third $6.00 fourth $4.00 fifth $2.00 t ASS ?.:aJ•Pl..n' CLASS 6 --Single Riding Plows 'in Sod. Prizes first $10.00 l l second $8.00 third $6.00 fourth $4.00 (Five Entries of no fourth prize) CLASS 7 -Tractors drawing Narrow Bottom plows. You may use as many plows as you wish. But your furrow must not exceed 10 inches in width. Prizes -first $15.00 second $12.00 third $10.00 fourth $8.00 (Five Entries or no fourth prize) CLASS 8 -Tractors drawing wide bottom plows, turning not less than a 12 inck furrow and you draw as man} plows as you wish. Prizes -first $15.00 second $12.00 third $10.00 fourth $8.00 (Five entries or no fourth Prize ) $300.00 in Cash Prizes Write the Secretary for Official Programme Our Prizes are Generous -Come and Show Us How You Can 'Plow and Get Your Share of the Money Rules andRegulations There will be an entrance charge for supply teams of $1.00 per team Entrance charge in each class $1.00 Except in Class 5, boys in this class the entry is free And don't forget you must finish your six rounds on crown before going to lunch DON'T UNHITCH FOR DINNER BEFORE YOU FINISH. YOUR SIX ROUNDS ON CROWN OR YOU WILL BE BARRED OUT. RulesandRegulations The Association will help Competitors from a distance to locate teams if given notice, otherwise they will not be responsible for teams the morning of the Plowing Match. Rules will be strictly observed Competition Open to Ontario. Amount of land to plow, Left for Committee to decide. Average depth of furrow 6 inches. No shaping of fur- row after 2 rounds on crown. Teams to be on ground at 9 a.m. to start plowing at 9.30 a m• Finish to be made at 4 p.m. Judge's decision to be final. No shifting of stakes after start is made. Each plowman allowed one helper only. All Crowns to be finished before lunch. Finish to be made by 4 p.m., or plowing will not be considered. Plowman to Gee 6 rounds on Crown, must be finished by 12.30 noon. Directors to be on ground at 9 arm., wearing official badges. All general purpose plows must have plane irons, no cut, either coulter or shier.
