• few is Mrs. John Gibson, of Wrox

maiden name was Allison Robert-
son. She was born in Clerkenville,

1853. With her husband, John Gib-
son, and one child, she crossed the
' sea in 1837 on the sailing vessel
"St. Patrick", being five wicks on
the way. In 1857 they came to
' Wroxeter, then a mere clearing in
the bush, and joined forces with Mr.
Gibson'e brothers, Thomas and Ro-
bert, who had built a sawmill and
gristmill at the water power pro-
vided by the River Maitland. Alex-
ander Gibson and George Gibson
followed in I81i9 and in 1862 re-
spectively. Old -residents will recog-
nize these names as those of men
who left their impress upon the
rising comreunity, • Thomas being
member of the Legislature for
North (afterwards Best) Huron
from 1871 to: 1898, while Alexand-
er, after being Deputy Reeve and
; Reeve, was deeded warden of the
county. All brothers were good
urgers, and until his death in

Presbyterian Church in Wroxeter,
which it was one of his first care:
