The death occurred on Saturday
morning of John Scott, 8th con. Mr.
Scott had been in his usual health
until about ten days ago when his
stomach became deranged. Hiccough-
ing started which lasted nine days.
Ile was removed to Wingham hos-
pital on Monday where his death
took place. His wife, who was .for-
merly Hannah Fraser, predeceased
hint about three years, since which
time, his sister, Mrs. Radford, has
been his housekeeper.

Jackson, formerly of the 8th line, of
Morris will learn with regret of his
death. Ile was only ill a few days
with pneumonia and died at his hone
near Tisdale, Sask., on Sunday, Aug.
25th. He was born in Morris on
July 15th, 1800 and married in Jan.
1883, and moved with his family to
the West on 1905, where he had re -

Mrs. Cecil Wheeler Called Horne:
—The community was sorrow strick-
ened to learn of the death of Edna
May Seandrett, beloved wife of Cecil
W. Wheeler, who passed peacefully
away last Tuesday night at 12 o'clock
Mrs. Wheeler had been in failing
health for several months, yet never
gave up hope, death came as a great
shock, She was of a right, cheerful
disposition and was dearly beloved
by all who knew her. She was a
member of Knox United Church, Bel -
grave, and took a deep interest in all
church work, seeking things for good.
She was born at Belgrave, June 23rd,
1894, and had lived in and around
Belgrave all her life. In June 1918
she was united in marriage to her
now bereft husband Cecil Wheeler,
who with three children are left to
mourn the loss of a true wife, a kind
and loving mother. The funeral,
which was very largely attended was
held last Friday afternoon to Bran-
don cemetery., Rev. Mr. Scobte con-
ducted the service, which was very
impressive. Miss Mary Wightman
and Miss Cela Coultcs sang a duet,
"In the Garden." The flowers were
numerous and beautiful, showing the
esteem in which Mrs, Wheeler was
held. The flowers consisted of:—

ing, while chasing a pig out of the
barn, the pig upset the lantern
, causing the lantern to 'explode, ancd
the barn was totally destroyed.

Fortunately the wheat had been
threshed and removed and the rest
of the grain was in the fields. Nei-
ghbors soon arrived and helped save
the house. Barn was insured.
