Obituary:—The funeral of the
late Isaac McKay, resident of Sea -
forth, whose death occurred on July
16 in Lucknow at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. W. W. Hill, after a
lengthy illness, took place on Thurs-
day, July 18th. The remains were
brought here on Wednesday, follow-
ing a short service. .Interment was
made in the, Maitlandbank cemetery.
Rev. Mr. McDonald, of Lueknow and
Rev. Irving B. Koine, of First Jres-
byterian church, Seaforth, officiated
at the service, which was held at the
home of his brother, Hugh McKay,.

Jarvis street. Mr. McKay, who was
a son of the late Hugh McKay, was
born in Scotland 76 years ago, the
family settling in Tuckersmith. Later
they moved to Grey Township, near
Cranbrook, but the greater part of
Mr. McKay's life was spent in Sea -
forth. 'Fifty years ago he married
Miss Catherine Henderson, of Grey,
who predeceased him 17 years. He
is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W.
W. Hill, of Lucknow, one brother,
Mr. Hugh iMcliay, Seaforth, and one
sister, Mrs. Orr, of Colorado. The
pallbearers wend: Messrs. J. H. Reid,
Malcolm McLeod, Marshall Snaith,
William Freeman, James Dick and
William Morrison, most of whole
were fellow -employees of the Can-
ada Furniture rotors factory,
where Mr.
M(Kay was employed factory,
20 years.

News of the death or Leonard
Brown was received with much re-
gret in the entire community. kl •
had been in failing health for a few
months, and recently went to the
home of his daughter, Mrs, Chestec
Higgins, of 'rurnberry, hopeing to
benefit by the change, but gradually
sank till the end came Friday even-
ing. He was 72 years of age and
the eldest son of the late Frederick
Brown. His early days were spent
in the vicinity of Napanee, later com-
ing to this neighborhood with his
parents where he has since resided.
He engaged in farming for some
years, but for several years had been
in charge of the carrying of the
mail and express. Mr. Brown was a
man of sterling character and re-
spected by everyone. He is survived
by one daughter, Mrs. C. Higgins, of
T., •
ker and Miss E. Brown, and one bro.
ther, Thos. Brown, all of Wroxeter.
His wife formerly, Miss Margaret
Miller, pre -deceased him by several
years. The funeral was held from
his home in the village Monday af-
ternoon, Rev. 11. Bolingbroke, of the
United Church officiating, after which
interment was made in the Wroxeter
cemetery.

The Delgrave branch of the Wom-
en's Institute held its regular meet-
ing at the home of Mrs. Norman
Walsh on Tuesday afternoon when
there was a good attendance. The
meeting was in charge of Mrs. Char-
