W. C. T. U. Meeting.
The W. C. T. U. held a very plea-

Guire, followed with prayer; tem-
perance readings were given by Mrs.

"Buster" Keaton Comes
With a Scream to Grand,
"Steamboat 13111 Jr,;" the Buster
Keaton comedy for United Artists,
which will have its local premiere at
the Grand Theatre Friday and Sat
urday is probably the most lavishly
produced laugh feature ever arcade.
From the first glimpse of the frozen
faced star when he ambles onto the
screen as a sappy youth whose own
father doesn't even give hint credit
for being able to do anything but
play a ukulele, till the uproarious
climax when Buster turns into the
most extraordinary character that
ever trod the deck of a stern -wheeler,
"Steamboat Bill Jr.,e is said to keep
audiences in by terics. Advance
notices call "Steamboat Bill Jr."
Keaton at his funniest. He is the aw-
karrl son of a river ship owner,
whose position 10 being threatened
by a rival shipper. The part of
Buster', father brings Ernest Tor-
rence as the stumbling, shambling,
laughable, but not unloveablo old
shipowner, out of step with modern
business, bat stoutly refusing to give
up the ship.

W. C. T. U. Meeting.
The W. C. T. U. held a very plea-
sant parlour meeting at the hotaeof
Mrs. W. H. Maunders. The meeting
was in charge of Mrs. Parker, who
is Superintendent of that depart-
ment. The meeting opened by sing-
ing hymn 308; Scripture lesson,
_Malachi 3, was read by Mrs. Mc-
Guire, followed with prayer; tem-
perance readings were given by Mrs.
et. Strachan and Mrs. Parker; solos
were given by Mrs. Barker and Mrs.
l'roctor, which were much enjoyed.
The meeting was favoured with an
excellent address by erre. Coutts, of
Chicago, "In union there is strength"
let the temperance people of both
countries work, together and success
will surely come. The president,
Mrs. McGuire closed with prayer. A
social half hour was enjoyed by all
those present.
"Buster" Keaton Comes
With a Scream to Grand,
"Steamboat 13111 Jr,;" the Buster
Keaton comedy for United Artists,
which will have its local premiere at
the Grand Theatre Friday and Sat
urday is probably the most lavishly
produced laugh feature ever arcade.
From the first glimpse of the frozen
faced star when he ambles onto the
screen as a sappy youth whose own
father doesn't even give hint credit
for being able to do anything but
play a ukulele, till the uproarious
climax when Buster turns into the
most extraordinary character that
ever trod the deck of a stern -wheeler,
"Steamboat Bill Jr.,e is said to keep
audiences in by terics. Advance
notices call "Steamboat Bill Jr."
Keaton at his funniest. He is the aw-
karrl son of a river ship owner,
whose position 10 being threatened
by a rival shipper. The part of
Buster', father brings Ernest Tor-
rence as the stumbling, shambling,
laughable, but not unloveablo old
shipowner, out of step with modern
business, bat stoutly refusing to give
up the ship.
