Ottawa, Feb. 21—Requesting as early start as possible in the spring on harbor improvement works, for which $205,000 has been placed in the estimates, a large delegation from Goderich waited an Icon. J. C. Elliott, K. C., Minister of Public Works, yesterday. The Minister informed the delega- tion, headed by Mayor H. J. A. , Ale- c Ewan. and introduced to him by F. Wellington Hay, Liberal member for North Perth, that the Federal Gov- ernment intends to do all it can, within reason, to make Goderich the port it should be. He said every ef- fort would be made to initiate- the work early in; the season, if Parlia- ment approves the departmental et- thnates at an early date.
