for Reeve again for 1929 1 hereby
solicit your whole -hearted support.,
as it will not be possible to see you
all personally. If elected I will .lc,
my best to advance every interest of
the municipality, both in the Town-
ship and at the County Council.
Here are a few facts: In 192'7
with McNabb as -Reeve the Council
borrowed $21,000 and in 1928 we
borrowed $5,000 and used $6,380
of drainage debentures, and the
latter sum is now back in bank to
pay contractors when drains are
completed. At the start of 1928
there was borrowed from' the Bank
$8,000 and this year `we have eel -
mated grant of $3215.96 on wont
on roads this year and uncollected
taxes of $1751.09, which will leave
a balance of $4967.05 besides a bank
balance around $4,000 which leaves
us in a position 'co take care of the
roads in 1929.

Death of Mrs. Edward Garrow:---

of Mrs. Edward Garrow.—Word has
been received of the death in Tor-
; onto on Tuesday, December 25'ch,
of Marion Leckie Garrow, wid ,w of
the late Edward Garow, in her 78th
I year. Mrs. Garrow was a daughter 1
of the late Robert Leckie, of Grey
t township. In 1878 she was united
1 in marriage to Edward Garrow, who
predeceased her eiglic years ago.
Mr. Garrow conducted sawmills in
l.Cranbrook, Webbwood and Cobalt, i
but since his death Mrs. Garro ,v has '
resided in Toronto. Two months a-'

her death. She is survived by three ;
daughters: Mrs. R. D. Dez'lin, Tor-

The baby was 24 days old. A pri-
vate funeral was held on Tuesday

James Kirton Passes Away -- A
very sad and sudden death occurred
when James liirton passed peace-
fully away at his home at lot 5, con.
5, Turnberry, ir1 his 02nd year. The
late Mr. Kirton had been in his' us-
ual good health up until Friday
evening when he was stricken with a
severe paralytic stroke, from which
he passed away at 2 o'clock Satur-
day morning. He was widely known
and a highly respected resident of
this community nll his life. He was
best known for his kindly Christian
character anti his generosity in con-
tributing to every worthy cause. For
fifteen years he had been a director
of The Howick Mutual Fire Assur-
ance Company, and President for the
last three years. He was a member
of the Presbyterian church, Bluevale
where he served on the Managing;
Board for several yenta. • In poli-
tics he wog a Conservative. H . is
survived by :his widow, who was
formerly Miss. Laura RolPh, And his
only son, Eldon. Also three
