A stylish costume was noted in Central Park this week, worn by a charming girl yet in her teens, with a face like a flower and her hair like spun gold. The annual convention of the Provincial Women's Christian Tern peranoe Union, of British Colum• bia, will be held at Cbilliwhack on Sept. 8. John R. Benson, of Winnipeg, Man., has in his possession a colt with two lege, the forelegs being absent. It has merely scapulas, or shoulder blades, in a rudimentary state. The sternum, of breast bone is well developed and prominent. The inferior extremity of the scap- ulas terminates in a blunt protub- erance, having no cavity in it to re- ceive the head of a humerus or oth- er bone. It is very strong on its legs and will walk by supporting its chin on your hand. Miss Jennie Anderson, daughter of James Anderson, one of the most prominent agrioulturaliets of Fuller- ton township, was married recently to Samuel Ferguson, an inspector of schools from Minnesota. He pull. ed up at St. Cloud, Minnesota, and by his superior skill and intelli- gence he received the appointment of Special Court stenographer for the St. Oloud judicial district—a very good position for a young lad. Amongst his friends in that coun• try was a Samuel Ferguson, and in looking through Russel's album one day, his attention was attracted by a young lady's photograph—Miss Jennie Anderson, a Canadian 'sous- in of Russell's.
