bish of months, it will be the duty of
every citizen to clean and tidy up his
9<5101ses, and unhealthy heaps of offen-
sive refuse. A little attention to this
matter at the proper season may be the
means of preventing the ocenrrence of
disease and perhaps death. Besides be-
ing necessary from m military poiut, the
neatness and cleanliness resulting, will
much enhance the appearance of all con-
cerned. Tho attractiveness of the town
will also bo improved, and outsiders will
not fail to take vote of it.

Powell, in the Garfield House, and they
intend making hum. As the stook
is large and must be reduced they p'om-

menthe and 5 days. Mr. Deadman is
very proud of his last purohaso and from
the tracings in tho Herd book he may

EASTER MEATS,—AS usual A. Currie
made a splendid displry of choice meats
on Thursday. The exhibit consisted of
a 3 ynem old heifer, fed by Teo. Murray,
Morris, live weight 1800 pounds ; two 2
years old heifers, weighing 1,000 pounds,
fed by A. Gurlie; 9 lambs, dressed 32
pounds etch; veal, pork and rabbits.
The usual deoorations of evergreen and
tissue paper flowers were made. It was
a primo lot of meat.—Wm. Blashill had
a fine 2 year old steer, live weight 1170
pounds, dressed 700, fed by -Geo How-
lett, Morrie; porkers, veal and lamb In
his Easter supply. Mr. Blashill's dis-
play was all in his shop this year.

The natives of Ceylon have queer boats.
They are long and so narrow, that a man
