We bespeak for him a full house. • SALVATiON Aum.—Last Saturday, Sun- day and Monday were three big days for the Army in Brussels. Tho servioee on Saturday evening and all clay Sunday wore conducted by Major Glover and Adj. Cooper. Monday afternoon a banquet was given in the Town Hall which was patronized by not a few, and in the even- ing a jubilee and half -night of prayer. The soldiers and officers formed at 7:80 p.m. for a grand torchlight marsh, after which they repaired to the Hall, which was packed to the dome for the jubilee. Notwithstanding the uncomfortable post. tion some were placed in, being unable to get seats, the order was good throughout. One of the chief attractions, perhaps, wee the presence of Capt. Ada Sharp, of Exe- ter, formerly in charge of the Brussels corps. She was received warmly by all, and is by all odds the favorite with the people here. The following officers took part in the proceedings :—Capt. Speak- man and Lieut. Blain, Wiegham ; Capt. Calhoun, Teeswator ; Capt. Eaton and Cadet Cargill, Seaforth ; Capt. Rawlings, Blyth ; Capt. Micbtol, Listowel ; Capt. Lewis, Clinton ; Lieut. Prince, Kincard- ine and Capt. Sharp, Exeter. At 11:50 the hall night of prayer began and broke up about 6 a.m. Major Glover bogs to thank the many kind friends, especially the ladies, for the liberal as well as sub- stantial way in which they aided in gett- ing up the banquet. On the whole it was a suc0ess. Capt. Sharp remained in town over Tuesday and took charge of the evening service at the barracks. Tutt WRESTLING MnT°n. The Liver. more (Cal.) Echo says :—There was a goodly attendance at the wrestling match last Friday evening, at the Farmers 1111- 11n Theatre, between Tom. Flanagan, of Livermore, and G. Phrrie, of Canada, bettor known as the champion heavy weight thrower of the world, for $100 a side. The different styles anuounced by the master of ceremonies, Jos. Walsh, were:—"Cumberland," "Collar and E1 - how," "Oatoh-as•Catoh•Can," and "Side Hold. The fifth style to be tossed for. Some time was spent in selecting a time- keeper, finally- Frank Fowler consented to act in that capacity. Mr. Flanagan was supported by Jos. Mcleown, while gonial George Jounings acted in a like capacity for Mr, Petrie. On time being called botb mon .stepped briskly to the centre, to wroecle tho Cumberland etelo, and after a lively bout, lasting 3i min- u te-, Mr. Porrio thres. his man very prettily. Thorrext bout, in Side Hold stele, was won by iii lanegan ; time, 4 minutes and 22 recon ls. The third bout in Catch -es -Catch -Can style, was won by Mr. Porrio iu 8 minutes, 17 seconds, while Mr. Flanagan proved the whaler in the Collar and Elbow bout ; time, 4 min. utee 49 monde, two fella caoh having up to this time been woe by the pertinipuants• Mr. Perri() won tho toss Incr choice of styles for the fifth bout and oboe Greco- Roman, floored his opponent, in 4 min- utes and 12 monde, and was declared w inner of the match. Mr. Walsh then announced that Jos. McKown (a pupil of the late champion Greco-Roman wrestler of the world, Claronoo 'Whistler,) would try conclusions with Mr. Perrin in two boots of that style. Tho former showed himself to be quite a master of the art, and after some very pretty work, wan de- clared tho winner of a bout which was without doubt the most interesting event of the evening, principally on account of the bringing mea play of nearly all the grips, locks end other devices known to wrestlers in that style, the audience meanvhile, cheering heartily at each special display of skill. Mr. Perri° was of corm at a groat disadvantage through fatigue resulting from the previous bones, but whop time was again called he forced the work and easily won the bout in 7 minutes, Thus ended ono of the most interesting entertainments of too kind over witnessed in Livermore, aid it is hoped that others of like aharaotor may from time to time bo given by our local talent touch of which, by the way, is of no mean order. Mr. Perrin will soon leave on a profeesional tour of the State, and seem:Ward% will take hie deliartuee for ifs Canadian home, accompantod by W. F. TnrE KELLY—BvnxIIAN CocCEr.T.—•LAST Wednesday the talented Beethoven Quart - tette gave ono of their remittal treats in the Town Hall, under the auspices of the Brussels Cricket Club. There was a largo and most appreciative audience. After a few preliminary remarks by tho Presi- dent of the Cricket Club, E. 11, Wade, the following program was entered upon and not only heartily received but the selections rapturously encored again and agaio :—Quartetta, "God preserve oar native Land" ; solo, "Good bye," Miss Ryelcman; daett, "The old Brigade," Messrs, Richards and Kelly; solo, "I dare you to Forget," Miss Woods; solo, "Alone in the Desert," Mr. Kelly; duett, "Master and Sabolar," Bliss Ryoltman and 1.11•. Kelly; solo, "The gay Hussar," Mr. Riobards ; trio, "0 hoar Me," Miss Ryokman, Messrs. Richards and Kelly; Quartette, "Tyrolean Ducks"; duets, "Beautiful Venice," Kiss Woods and Mr. Richards; solo, "The Stile," Miss let ok. mai ; guitar solo, "Sebastepoi," Mr. Kelly ; solo. 'My sweetheart when a Boy,' Mr. Richards; duets, "Only Thee," Mise Ryokman and Mr, Richards ; solo, "Tho Raft," Mr, Kelly; gnactette; "The last rose of Summer," ; 'God sav° the Quenu,' Each member of the Company performed their part in the most creditable manner and were very free to please the audience in answer to their encores. Miss Ryok• man has a clear, sweet, mueioal voice and her articulation wee such that every ono received the benefit of the selections rendered by her. Miss Ryclrtnan evill always be welcomed in Brussels. Tho sweetest selection of the evening wap Miss Ryokmnn's encore, entitled "Daddy;" Language fails to describe its melody and pathos. Miss Wood,,, also, performed her part in very good taste and bids fair to ries in the musical world. Siena Richards is a fent-class tenor, and on this his first rst a ppearance before a Brice eels audience made a decidedly favorable impression. The old faro•ite, Chas. Kelly, needs apo introduction. Ho filled hie place on the program es usual, that moans, that 110 one in the, Province can excel him. 1110 "Alone in tho Desert," and the guitar solos woro worth the ad- mission foo alone• Possibly if there was any choice in the program "Tho old Bri- gade," "Alone in the Desert," eeehear Me," "blaster and Scholar," "Beautiful Venice," and "Tyrolean Ducks," were the best pieces rendered, We are safe in saying that a bettor entertainment has seldom, if Over, been.givon in Brussels, and the Cricket Club is deserving of thanes for securing the talent. Mies Martin filled the position of pianist in a very creditable manner. The audience this company cannot please should be banished to Sierra Leone. The best thanks of the Cricket Club is returned to Stratton Bros. for the free use of their piano for the conee:t. Tbo receipte of the evening wore about $85 and after all expenses ere paid the crieketere wfl have a neat surplus.
