S. A. Jnx7LES,—The jubilee an-
nounced in last week's issue came off
Monday evening. Detatahmente were
present from Listowel, Wingham, Sea -
forth, Tesawater and Blyth. Special
Vanallen, the hallelujah trumpeter,
was in charge of the meeting assisted
by the following officers :--Capt. Co-
burn and Lieut. Cowan, Wingham ;
Lieut. Smale and Cadet Prince, Blyth;
Capt. Wessels and Oadet Eckett, Lie
towel; Capt. Willis and 'Lieut. Bell,
Seaforth; Oapt. Blackwell and Cadet,
Teeewater ; Capt. Laing, God erioh ;
and•Lieut. Trott, Hagersville. The
singing was good, especially' by Lieut.
Smale, who sang'"I'm the child of a
King," in a way that left a favorable
impression on the large audience.
Capt. Coburn also sang a solo. The
experiences werefull of enthusiasm and
interest, and as one after another tes-
tified to the saving grace of God ,it
could not help but give a weight to
the meeting. Capt. Coburn related
her experience in an interesting man-
ner, she has a powerful voice. Mr.
Renton was called upon to speak a
few words and was welcomed with
several "volleys," both from platform
and audience, Ho spoke of his ex-
perience and connection with the
Army previous to his connection with
the Methodist Church, Nevi fsaturee
in the jubilee was the singing of two
little children of David Heist, and the
dedication of the infant of Wm. Parr
to the Lord. Tho Hall was well filled
and outside of what may be spiritual
the coffers of the S.A. will be the bettor
of it good many dollars. Special Van -
alien as a commanding officer does
very well and one noticeable part of
the exercises was the freedom from
frivolous yarns, songs and speeches
made nee or to give the audience a
laugh. Captains Coburn and Wes-
sels in their addresses got off a lot of
good things, Capt. Coburn should
be called "The Donald .Dinnie" of the
Salvation Army.

THERE was a little fire scare on Fri-
day afternoon. The Ronald Works
whistle blew a warning blast and soon
the fire alarm was rung. The fire
was soon located, the engine hurried
to the rider bind hose quickly laid to
Ament Bros. mills, where a fire had
started from a spark from the smoke
stack. By good work being done in
time with pails and a little drenching
from the engine the fire was put out
without doing any damage. Had it
not been noticed for a few minutes a
serious conflagration would have been
the result and Brussels would have
lost a valuable industry.
